Das Walchsee Hotel GmbH, FN 479809 b, Johannesstraße 1, A-6344 Walchsee is committed to making its websites www.daswalchsee.at and www.daslakeside.at accessible in accordance with national legal regulations and international accessibility guidelines, in particular with the Accessibility Act (BaFG) for the implementation of the European Accessibility Directive RL (EU) 2019/882 on accessibility requirements for products and services (EEA), to ensure that people with and without disabilities can use the information and functions of our website without restrictions.

This website is currently undergoing a relaunch process, taking into account the WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines. 

This accessibility statement applies to the websites www.daswalchsee.at and www.daslakeside.at and their subdomains.

Status of compliance with requirements

This website is partially compliant with the requirements of the Accessibility Act (BaFG) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Conformance Level AA. We are constantly working to improve accessibility.

Implementation will take place within the transitional provisions of § 37 Para. 2 BaFG.

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons:

a) Incompatibility with accessibility provisions

For some images, the alternative text is missing, so this information is not accessible to screen reader users. Thus, WCAG success criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content) is not met. We plan a website relaunch. All new images will then be published together with alternative texts.

For some recorded videos, the subtitles are missing, so the spoken content is not available to deaf users. Thus, WCAG success criterion 1.2.2 (Captions (Prerecorded)) is not met. With the website relaunch, we plan to add subtitles to all new videos.

For some visual presentations of text and images of text, the contrast ratio does not meet WCAG success criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast). With the website relaunch, we plan to add all new visual presentations of text and images of text with changeable contrast modes.

For some texts, the text is occasionally overlaid or obscured at 200% zoom. Thus, WCAG success criterion 1.4.4 (Resize text) is not met. With the website relaunch, we plan to make all new texts, with the exception of subtitles and images of text, resizable by up to 200 percent without assistive technology, without loss of content or functionality.

Please let us know if you have difficulties with specific documents. We will prepare the content accessibly upon request and supplement the documents with accessible alternatives. For new documents, we strive to prepare them accessibly according to WCAG 2.1 and PDF/UA compliant before publication. Publication of non-accessible documents, for example print versions, will be marked as such.

b) Disproportionate burden

Some of our videos are hosted and published on the video platform "Youtube". It is not possible to provide the required audio descriptions for some of these videos. Thus, WCAG success criterion 1.2.5 (Audio Description (Prerecorded)) is not met. We plan to provide alternatives for time-based media (text) instead of audio descriptions.

c) The content does not fall within the scope of the applicable legal provisions

Many older PDF documents and Word documents are not accessible. For example, PDF documents are not tagged, so they cannot be adequately perceived and used by screen reader users. Thus, WCAG success criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value) is not met.

After the website relaunch, we plan to consider the accessibility requirements according to WCAG 2.1 for new PDF or Word documents.
